The tree

Sonex has there own method of drawing up plans and making sense of them.Above is the tail kit assembly tree. Each box is a page in the plans. You have to work off boxes that have no other branches coming out of them first. It doesn't matter what order you choose .above you can start on ONX-T05 or ONX-T07 it doesn't matter. What you can't do is go to page ONX-T02 till T03,04 and 05 are completed, same for ONX-T06 .ONX-T01 can't be done untill everything below it is done etc etc..In the lighter shade you can see parts of the tree for other kits in the Onex plans.

ONX-T02

Horizontal Tail Assembly. It becomes obvious why ONX-T03,04,and 05 must be completed before doing anything on this page.Where this page comes in handy before that ,is looking foreward to see how the parts on T03,04 and 05 interact.
or I can let Jeremy explain it probably better as follows.

Onex Plans Checklist...It's in the plans! Message List ReplyMessage #79 of 411 < Prev | Next >Hello again OnexPlans group-
We wanted to comment on the recent post about a builder guide/manual for the
Onex. This does exist. It is not, however, a separate guide from the
plans...it exists on the plans themselves.
The roadmap to construction of the Onex is just like the Sonex, Waiex, and
Xenos. The Drawing Tree (ONX-B03) has a box for every print for the Onex.
You start with a box toward the bottom of the page that has nothing flowing
to it and work your way up the page until you complete the aircraft.
On every individual drawing, every part and sub-assembly has a part number
assigned...this shows as a number in a circle. You can check right over the
top of this circle if you like as you complete the parts...you'll find many
are already done for you in the full airframe kit and even more if you're
using all the options. You can also use the list on the lower RH side of the
page which tells you where the parts or part assemblies will be used next.
Note that many new Onex Builders may also miss the General Construction
Order in the lower RH side of the page which offers you additional
instruction including construction order where it's needed.
For those that may not have considered it, we also strongly recommend you
come to the Sonex Workshop. We have an over 1-hour presentation on using the
plans. You may find this presentation worth the whole price of attendance.
Regardless of workshop attendance, we encourage all builders who are new to
this drawing system to take the time to familiarize yourself with the plans
and how they flow. It will pay off handsomely as you progress through the
project.
As always, please feel free to contact Betty, John, Jeremy, Kerry, Mark,
Heather, Jason, or Stephanie at the numbers or e-mail below
with any questions or Comments.
Regards,
-Sonex Aircraft, LLC
